Manila, Philippines May 18 (CNA) A Taiwanese investigation team sent to Manila to probe into a fatal shooting of a Taiwanese fisherman by a Philippine government vessel will return to Taiwan Saturday, an official said, calling the Philippines' attitude on a joint investigation "arrogant" and "capricious."

The delegation has been negotiating with the Philippine government officials on a joint probe into the shooting, but Manila's attitude has been capricious and dishonest, said Chen Wen-chi, head of the Ministry of Justice's Department of International and Cross-Strait Legal Affairs, at a news conference held at Taiwan's representative office in Manila.

The group thus decided to return to Taiwan later in the day, Chen said at the news conference news before their return to Taiwan.

The Taiwanese team arrived in Manila Thursday to investigate the shooting of a Taiwanese fishing boat by a Philippine government vessel May 9, which caused the death of a 65-year-old fisherman Hung Shih-cheng.
