Taipei, June 23 (CNA) Taiwanese girl group S.H.E. teamed up Saturday to sing at the Golden Melody Awards, the first time thetrio has performed as a group since its member Selina suffered serious burns in an accident in 2010.
Hebe and Ella, the other two members of the group, each sang a song before Selina, dressed in a white gown, emotionally sang "Everyone Who Loves Me," backed by violins and a cello.
The song was written a year after Selina was severely burned during the shooting of an explosion scene for a TV show in China on Oct. 22, 2010.
The pop stars then sang their hit song "Shero," which means "girl hero," together to a roaring crowd, as Selina moved her body and waved her hands to the music. They then shouted "Hi everyone, we are S.H.E."
After singing one of their biggest hits "Super Star," a large cloth dropped down in front of the stage emblazoned with the gigantic words "We are back."
The singers were reportedly sobbing backstage after the performance finished.
Selina, whose Chinese name is Jen Chia-hsuan, sustained burns on over 54 percent of her body in the 2010 accident and was hospitalized for 88 days.
The group's last performance together was in October 2010 at the Taipei International Flora Exposition.
S.H.E.'s performance Saturday night was rated as the "most anticipated" part of the ceremony in an online survey released by Yahoo!Kimo on Friday. Close to 70 percent of the voters said they most wanted to see S.H.E's performance.
The pop group also topped the list in another survey by entertainment site Chinayes, receiving 38,214 votes, or 80.2 percent of the votes, to become the "most anticipated performance" of the night.
