Tigerair Taiwan to launch flights to Japan's Asahikawa

Taipei, Dec. 13 (CNA) Budget carrier Tigerair Taiwan said Wednesday that it will launch a new service next March between Taiwan's main airport and Asahikawa in Japan.

Starting March 27, 2018, the airline said, it will operate two round-trip flights per week on the route, departing Taoyuan International Airport at 6:15 a.m. for Asahikawa every Tuesday and Saturday.

On the return leg, the flight will leave Asahikawa at 12:10 p.m., the airline said.

To celebrate the launch of the new service, Tigerair Taiwan will be offering special one-way fares of NT$2,299 for travel between March 27 and Oct. 27, 2018, with tickets sales lasting from 10 a.m. Friday to 11:59 p.m. Saturday.

Asahikawa, the second biggest city in Hokkaido Prefecture, will be the 11th Japanese destination served by Tigerair Taiwan, a subsidiary of Taiwan's flagship carrier China Airlines.
