Taipei, Feb. 18 (CNA) Taiwan's Acer Inc. forecast Monday that its personal computer shipments for the first quarter of the year will drop by 10 percent to 15 percent sequentially due to seasonal factors and a transition to new products.
Acer Chairman and CEO J.T. Wang said at a media briefing that the company's operations are likely to bottom out in the January-March period and that Acer "has a good chance" of earning profits this year.
Acer's fourth quarter non-consolidated revenue was NT$79.3 billion (US$2.68 billion), a drop of 8.8 percent from the previous quarter and 24.6 percent from the previous year.
