Taipei, Dec. 19 (CNA) Asus Cloud Corp., the cloud unit of Taiwan's leading PC brand Asustek Computer Inc., established a health care alliance based on its cloud computing services Wednesday to extend its range of cloud applications.

The company will build a cloud-based health care platform in the first quarter of 2013 to introduce mobile services such as electronic health records and remote health consulting, Asus Cloud Chief Executive Peter Wu said at a news conference.

The alliance, co-launched with local medical group Show Chwan Health Care System, consists of more than 10 corporate members in the technology, telecommunications and medical sectors and is aiming at 1 million local users by the end of next year, Wu said.
