Taipei, May 8 (CNA) Taiwan's Quanta Computer Inc., the world's largest notebook computer ODM service provider, reported Tuesday a 10 percent drop in revenue for April, citing product transition and a high base period in March.
Quanta's unaudited consolidated revenues totaled NT$68 billion (US$2.32 billion) in April, down 10.8 percent from NT$76.3 billion in March, according to the report.
The company said the decline was close to its own forecast and attributed the drop to the product transition of its major client Intel Corp. and a high base period in March.
Overall, its notebook shipments were 4 million units in April, an 18 percent decline from 4.9 million units in March, Quanta said.
However, the company said it expects a better performance in the coming months.
Quanta issued the report after the close of trade on Taiwan's stock market. Its shares ended up 1.11 percent at NT$81.9.
