Taipei, April 27 (CNA) Asus beat 378 local companies in 15 industries Friday to clinch the number one spot in terms of its digital services at the 2012 Top Corporations Digital Services Awards organized by Business Next magazine.
Asus won out with a total score of 85.2 points out of a possible 100 thanks to its ability to use social networking to reach consumers, as well as its inclusion of downloadable software available on product introduction web pages that makes it easier for web surfers to navigate the sites.
In addition, the company has also established cloud services to further expand its customer base, which has also earned it a good online reputation.
Chunghwa Telecom was second with 83.2 points, followed in third by Cathay Life Insurance Co. with 82.4 points, which was cited for its provision of many downloadable forms needed for things such as getting married, changing careers and reporting illness.
Following an initial screening that weeded out the less competitive firms, 200 finalists were then ranked by a panel of experts who took into account indicators such as Search Engine Optimization, as well as the results of a March 20-29 online vote that received 453,947 ballots, said Business Next Editorial Director Lu Yu-wei.
In addition, a survey of around 5,000 forums was conducted between March 2011 and February this year on companies' Internet reputations.
