Taipei, April 21 (CNA) Taipei-based Mandarin Airlines began Saturday to offer regular flights between the central Taiwan city of Taichung and Macau.
The new service provides seven round-trip flights per week, witha 90-minute one-way flight, according to the carrier.
Taichung Deputy Mayor Tsai Ping-kun and Nantou Magistrate Lee Chao-ching attended a ceremony to mark the new service, inwhich they expressed hope that it will help boost tourism incentral Taiwan.
Prior to Saturday's launch of the service, flights destinedfor Macau were only available from Taipei in northern Taiwan and Kaohsiung in the south.
