Taipei, Sept. 16 (CNA) Taiwanese tennis player Hsieh Su-wei (謝淑薇) clinched the singles title at the Hana-Cupid Japan Women's Open on Sunday, beating Amanda Anisimova of the United States in straight sets 6-2, 6-2 in the final.

The second-seeded, world No. 40 Hsieh defeated the 17-year-old American in a match that lasted just 58 minutes, earning her first WTA Tour championship in six years and her third WTA singles title.

In 2012, Hsieh won her first two singles titles in Kuala Lumpur and Guangzhou.

With her latest win, she is expected to jump to 29th in the world rankings, which will be released next week.

With that leap, the 32-year-old will return to the top 30 for the first time since February 2013, following her victories over Garbiñe Muguruza at the Australian Open and Simona Halep at Wimbledon, according to the WTA website.

The Hana-Cupid Japan Women's Open, with a total purse of US$250,000, ended in Hiroshima Sunday.
