Taiwan eyes wins in badminton New Zealand Open finals

Taipei, May 5 (CNA) Taiwanese badminton players are eyeing victories in both the finals of the men's doubles and mixed doubles at the New Zealand Open on Sunday.

Wang Chi-lin (王齊麟) and Chen Hung-ling (陳宏麟) have advanced to the men's doubles final after they defeated Tan Qiang (譚強) and He Jiting (何濟庭) from China 21-14, 21-13 in the semifinals on Saturday.

The Taiwanese duo will face Berry Angriawan and Hardianto Hardianto from Indonesia in the final.

Wang will also partner with Lee Chia-hsin (李佳馨) in the mixed doubles' final where the Taiwanese pair will take on Seo Seung Jae and Chae Yujung from South Korea.

Wang and Lee came from behind to beat He Jiting and Du Yue (杜玥) 17-21, 21-18, 21-18 in the semifinals on Saturday.
