Ex-CPC Politburo standing member could be tried: scholar

Taipei, July 29 (CNA) Beijing could put Zhou Yongkang, a former standing committee member of Politburo of the Communist Party of China (CPC), on public trial for corruption but will not give him the death penalty, Taiwanese China expert Lin Chong-pin said Tuesday.
