Jakarta, Aug. 3 (CNA) Taiwanese photographers have scooped an impressive number of prizes at the Indonesia Salon of Art Photography 2012 in Jakarta, including two gold and two silver medals.

Among the winning photos was "Deep Feeling" by Huang Chi-lai, which was awarded the FIAP Gold Medal in the "color" category.

Two other photographs by Huang, titled "Send God in The Morning" and "Fly Fight," won an FIAP Honorable Mention in the "humans" category and a PSA Honorable mention in the "monochrome" category.

"Lonely Tree" by Chian Tsun-hsiung obtained the RPS Gold Medal -- Best of Show in the "landscape" category, while his "The Tea Garden-2" won the RPS Silver Medal in the same category.

"Catching in Dawn" by Huang Chih-sheng bagged the PSA Silver Medal in the "water" category.

Meanwhile, "Morning in the Mountain" by Hsu Chan-cheng and "Thanksgiving Journey" by Tien Cheng were each awarded a PSA Honorable Mention in the "landscape" category.

None of the Taiwanese winners, however, attended the award ceremony Thursday, probably because of flight disruptions due to Typhoon Saola.

Edwin Djuanda, a key member of the salon committee, said the Taiwanese photographers’ performance in the competition was excellent and they captured very good landscape and human images.

The competition was conducted in accordance with requirements of the International Federation of Photographic Art (FIAP), the Photographic Society of America (PSA), and the U.K.-based Royal Photographic Society (RPS). It drew 14,000 submissions by 1,128 photographers from 63 countries around the world.
