Paris, April 19 (CNA) Artworks created by 14 Taiwanese cartoonists are the featured attraction at a comic festival currently being held in Centre Pompidou in Paris, France.
Chen Hung-yao, a renowned cartoonist, and six other comic artists have been participating in Planet Manga, a months-long show put on by the Taiwan-based Anytime Holding Group.
The 47-year-old Chen, who attended the Angouleme International Comics Festival -- the largest comic show in Europe -- in January, said Thursday a number of art galleries and international publishers have shown interest in his work.
Chen added he is currently in talks with a French writer regarding his next creation, and is also learning about the reading habits of Europeans.
In addition to collaborating with industry professionals in France, Chen said he will hold a solo show next year in Belgium and focus on his career in Europe.
According to the holding company, a backer of Taiwan art, the exhibition at the modern art center will tour Taiwan later in the year, as well as Shandong, Guangzhou and Shenyang in China.
Visitors will be able to use touch screen displays to interact with comic book characters.
Planet Manga opened Feb. 11 and runs until May 27.
