Taipei, May 17 (CNA) Wei-Yin Chen of the Baltimore Orioles is scheduled to face another ace pitcher after outshining the New York Yankees' C.C. Sabathia Wednesday, according to the Major League Baseball official website.
The Taiwan native, who won the fourth game of his rookie year in the victory over the Yankees, will encounter Stephen Strasburg of the Washington Nationals May 21.
The Orioles will play an Interleague match at Nationals Park, where Chen might meet his countryman, pitcher Chien-Ming Wang. Wang is pitching in the minor league as part of his rehabilitation from a left hamstring injury.
Chen has faced three other ace starters -- John Danks of the Chicago White Sox, Jon Lester of the Boston Red Sox and Colby Lewis of the Texas Rangers. He won two of those three encounters.
The left-hander has a good chance of garnering his fifth win in the upcoming match with the Nats, whose lineup is often lackluster compared with those of the other teams against which Chen has pitched. The Orioles have won six of the seven games in which Chen has started.
It will be Chen's first time to swing the bat in the Interleague series.
