Taipei, June 27 (CNA) The Marine National Park Headquarters said Monday it will hold a marine ecotourism camp in Donsha (Pratas) Island for college students for the first time this summer.
The event, launched by the Cabinet-level Coast Guard Administration (CGA), Ministry of Education and Marine National Park Headquarters, is aimed at providing participants with a better understanding of marine ecology and techniques for monitoring Donsha Island's marine environment, according to the park headquarters.
Students participating in the four-day camp will stay at the fishermen's rest center, and a coastguard boat will be assigned to provide transportation for them, the organizers said.
The camp will be held in two slots -- July 27-30 and Aug. 24-27 -- with each one limited to 23 people, the organizers said.
The cost is NT$1,000 (US$34.5) per person.
