Taiwan to send its largest team to Guangzhou Asian Games

Taipei, Sept. 29 (CNA) Taiwan will send a delegation of 560athletes and officials to the 16th Asian Games, the largest groupthat Taiwan has put together for the event, according to the paneltasked with athlete selection.

The 16-day Asian Games are scheduled to open in Guangzhou, Chinaon November 12.

The Taiwan delegation will include 397 athletes and a 109-memberstaff.

Athletes include Chuang Chih-yuan, who won silver in men'ssingles table tennis in the 2002 Busan Asian Games and two bronzemedals four years later in Doha; Wang You-ling, a silver and bronzemedalist in women's bowling in Busan; and Lin Yi-chun, a bronzemedalist in women's trap shooting event in Doha.

Taiwan will compete in 32 of the 42 events in the upcoming games.
