Taiwan will now enter a relegation draw composed of losers in this weekend's four Asia/Oceania Group 1 matches, after its loss to Australia.

On Friday, Taiwan lost both opening singles matches, with 18-year-old Yang being thumped by Australia's budding star Bernard Tomic 6-2, 6-1. 6-1 and Yi putting up some resistance before falling to Peter Luczak 4-6, 6-3, 6-2, 6-3.
