Taoyuan airport to offer luggage-handling services
2010/07/31 15:52:49
Taipei, July 31 (CNA) To mitigate the inconvenience to passengers due to the closure of the parking lot for Terminal One of the Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport between Aug. 1, 2010 and June 30, 2011 as part of a renovation project, the airport will provide staff to help passengers with their luggage.

Airport officials said Saturday that the service will mainly be offered to passengers using Terminal One who will be forced to park in the parking lot for Terminal Two and then take a shuttle bus to the other terminal.

Only 60 people will be employed to carry the luggage under a government job creation project, airport officials said.

To make up for the expected shortage of luggage handlers during peak hours, the airport will also coordinate volunteers and off-duty airport fire department personnel to provide the service, according to the officials. (By Wang Shu-fen and Lilian Wu) ENDITEM/J
